Description:
Serial #50802, .35 Winchester, 23 ½ inch barrel with a very fine bright frosted bore. This is the Model 1895 Winchester lever action rifle manufactured in 1905. The metal surfaces show about 80-85% of the original blue finish with the scattered freckling and small areas of finish loss and some silvering especially on the lever and carry points. The hammer shows about half of the original vibrant case-color. It is sighted with a receiver mounted "Climbing Lyman" rear peep sight and brass bead front sight. It is currently stocked with custom beautifully figured and finely finished Walnut which remains in excellent condition and has the steel Winchester butt plate. The original stock and forearm are also included. The action functions properly with a smooth lever and crisp trigger. Included is a Cody zip Sheet that states the gun had a rubber shotgun butt and was returned for repair in 1906. A beautiful example of these rugged Winchester lever guns in a great caliber. Possibly to have the Lyman sight installed? FFL or C&R
