Description:
This is a Winchester Model 1895, saddle ring carbine, with the scarce option of a shotgun butt. The serial number places the manufacture date at 1916 according to the Winchester Collector's assn. It is chambered in the .30-06, with a 22" barrel and a bright, shiny excellent bore - about a 9.5/10 scale. The action and mechanics are excellent. The rifle also has sling swivel studs, super grade swivels and a vintage Herters sling - a very cool configuratiion! The receiver is set up for a Lyman 21 sight which was removed at some time. The wood is solid with a high percentage of original finsish remaining. The receiver shows honest, normal wear, the barrel has much more factory blue. The rifle shows some wear, minor dings and scratches - it is in much better shape than most 110 year old 1895's - overall a very nice, and scarce Winchester.
