Description:
Serial #41163, .52 Spencer RF, 22" barrel with a good bore that has dark spots of pitting along its length. The metal has an overall dark brown patina with patches of mild pinprick pitting along its length, with areas of thin surface oxidation scattered throughout as well. The Boston receiver markings are still clear and legible, and the sides of the breechblock have an overall mottled gray-brown patina. The walnut forend and buttstock have been sanded and refinished, with few handling marks or blemishes in the reapplied oil finish. No inspector cartouches are present, and there is some mild surface oxidation on the ring, bar, and plate on the left side of the wrist. The action is fully functional, and a single, functional tubular magazine is included. This is a good looking, "attic" condition Civil War Spencer, and rates fair-good overall. Antique
