Description:
This 1873 Springfield "Trapdoor" is in poor to fair overall condition, the finish has all faded to a plumb brown , with scattered corrosion, the stock is badly broken at the wrist with an attempted repair, the firing pin is broken and the bore has mild pitting. However the mechanics of the rifle are in good functioning order, with firm sears and strong springs in the lockwork as well as a breechblock that locks quite firmly.
