The Browning BPS Ducks Unlimited Pacific Edition 12 gauge is a special, collectible pump-action shotgun from 1984 featuring extensive engravings and a high-gloss walnut stock. It is known for its durable all-steel construction and ambidextrous bottom ejection system. Key Features and Specifications The "Pacific Edition," also known as "The Coastal," was the fourth and final model in the Ducks Unlimited (DU) Flyway Series, with approximately 3,800 units produced in 1984. Gauge: 12 gauge, with a 3-inch chamber (also accepts 2 3/4-inch shells). Action: Pump action with twin steel action bars for smooth, non-binding operation. Receiver: Precision machined from a solid block of forged steel with a blued finish and elaborate scroll engraving. The right side is marked "Ducks Unlimited Pacific Edition," and the left side features a gold-colored "The Coastal" medallion and engraving. Barrel: Typically 28 inches in length, with a vent rib and a single white bead front sight. Chokes: Features the Invector choke system (early models used Standard Invector, later ones Invector-Plus), and generally came with Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full chokes. Stock: Two-piece checkered high-gloss walnut with a semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and a vented Browning rubber recoil pad.
