Description: Serial #18182, .32-40 (Marked ".32-40B" on the underside of the barrel), 30 inch part octagon / part round Remington Creedmore barrel with a bright, excellent bore with a tiny bot of roughness at the chamber. This is an old custom restored Sharps Borchardt falling block rifle with a Remington barrel and custom stock. In excellent condition the barrel shows 85-90% original blue finish thinning with some scattered handling marks and is well marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION.N.Y." on the top. The frame and action have been expertly restored, crisply marked "BORCHARDT PATENT / SHARPS RIFLE CO. BRIDGEPORT CONN. U.S.A." and shows 99% plus vibrant case-colors. The checkered and capped pistol grips stock and schnabel forend rate excellent with a professionally stabilized crack on the left side of wrist which is barely visible having crisp checkering and beautiful wood grain patterns. The checkered steel butt plate rates excellent. It is sighted with a Lyman combination tang peep sight and bead front sight with a dovetail blank in the rear sight slot. The action functions properly with a tight lock up. A beautifully done Borchardt. Antique Price: $3,995.00 Antique: Yes |
