Description:
Small Frame No. 1 Volcanic lever action pistol with 3-1/2 inch octagon barrel originally chambered in 31 caliber "Rocket Ball" but has been period converted to an interesting parlor pistol configuration. The barrel has been sleeved for a 3mm projectile. The smooth bore has darkened and shows some frosting. Sights include a pinched post front with a fixed notch rear. Barrel and integral magazine tube retain most blue with a faint barrel address. Silver plated brass frame has crisp engraving and most of the silver finish. Hammer and lever have some case colors remaining. Walnut grips fit well and have most of their original varnish with a repaired chip and a few light handling mars. Mechanically functions.. About 1,000 of these were manufactured between 1858-1860. A good looking engraved Volcanic Small Frame with an interesting Parlor Pistol Conversion.
