I have kept this one because it is a pre-war rifle with the beautiful Winchester soft rust blue finish. The wear that you see on the receiver and the forend cap is actually the flaking of the blue that is common on Winchesters of this era. The barrel steel held the bluing very well but the receiver had a slightly different alloy that would sometimes cause the blue to flake off when exposed to any wear. The action is great on this one, working smoothly and I have never had a jam in this rifle. The bore looks perfect and is bright and shiny with strong riflings. The rifle has never been altered, and except for some light wear, is just as it came from the factory. It has the original sights and the front sight hood. The Model 64 is basically a model 94 action wedded to a more sleek 24" barrel, a 2/3 magazine, and a pistol grip stock with a checkered steel shotgun buttplate. When I look at it alongside an octagon barrel model 94 rifle, it looks like a sports car next to a pickup truck. I like pickup trucks, but sometimes I like to drive a Mustang or Camaro. Many Deer and Elk have been taken with the 30-30 Winchester and this one has many hunting trips left in it should you choose to take it into the field. The rifle was made 91 years ago and is still ready for action. Please look over the photos carefully. I have endeavored to take accurate photos that depict the actual condition of the item. On a return the buyer must not remove the firearm from the FFL premises without approval of the seller. Once the firearm has been received by the seller and inspected a prompt refund will be issued. Shipping must start within one week of receipt of the item(s). The return shipping must be of equal shipping level, including insurance i.e... Priority, Express, Blue Label etc. The return item MUST be in the same condition as when shipped to the buyer. This is an inspection period only, a gun is not to be fired or disassembled. Sellers written permission is required to allow the buyer to take down a takedown model during the inspection period. Upon the receipt and inspection of the returned gun, the seller agrees to issue a prompt refund. Recommendation: Confirm purchase with all details via the Contact Seller form within the listing and print out the listing for your records.
