Most double gun enthusiasts are aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of superior strength and mechanical genius created under the micromanagement of John Olin himself.  From 1930 to 1980 they only made about 2900 twenty-gauge guns in all grades, most of them weighing well over 6 3/4lbs., many over 7lbs.   At just 6 pounds, 3 ounces this stunning Model 21 would be a fine choice for an upland game hunter looking for a lightweight beauty, with versatile WS1/WS2 chokes.  Factory blued finish on the barrels and receiver is retained at over 99%.  The fine scroll engraving on the frame follows down to a setter in a field scene on the bottom of the receiver; added details you don’t find on many Model 21’s.  Very nice checkering can be found on furniture that really needed no decoration – Wow – look closely at the consistency of the coverage of the flame across the open, wavy grain.  A truly remarkable piece of wood, finished with a Winchester buttplate.  The single selective trigger, timed ejectors, and manual safety all operate as they should.  This gun was crafted in 1934, and after almost 100 years, it is ready for the next generation of hunter to put it to use with confidence and class.
