Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are mighty proud to offer this rarely seen version of Marlin's early pump shotgun, the trap gun. This model was one of several in the evolution of the original 1898 design. The model 21 preceded it, sharing the straight stock design. The trap gun, only made for 2 years, featured Circassian walnut furniture, high grade checkering, and a very tight full choke. Original literature from Marlin stated that this gun would place 350 number 8 pellets in a 30 inch circle at 40 yards. Given that there were about 410 pellets in total, that is a pretty bold claim. Any competition shooter and many hunters would love to have that ability. Trap shooting was foremost, though, with stock dimensions to fit the sport. The LOP is 14 inches, and the butt plate is large. Made in the year of our Lord 1910, she is in good condition for being 116 years old. The blue has drifted to an aging patina, but the delicate barrel address is still sharp and clear. The matting on top of the receiver is about the finest metal checkering you will find on any gun, and it remains well defined. The nicely figured walnut shows some handling marks, and the very fine checkering is in very good condition. The bore of the 30 inch barrel is also very good. The action works as designed, and she takes down in short order for cleaning or transport. This model was followed by the model 24 trap gun, leaving this short lived model the only one without a number designation. If you have been looking for the right Marlin pump gun to collect, for investment, or some old fashioned shooting, but want the one nobody else has, then look no further.
