We wish to help you improve your collection and make both parties happy. Description: Our research used Markku Palokangas' Book, SOTILASKASIASEET SUOMESSA 1918-1988 (Book 2), pp. 206-217. The charts included in this ad's pictures indicates that the serial number 1085 on our pistol was one of 94 delivered to the Army on July 30, 1938. Since this early pistol was built in 1938 it would be a true "Winter War" pistol.  This #1085 pistol is included in the list of pistols held at the Tank Training Center in 1943 .  This list can be found in the Palokangas book #2 on page 209. This was the second year of production (only 5 produced in the first year). On the chart provided, the term "Naytekappaleita koesarja" (test series of specimens) refers to the use of a set of trials. The serial numbers for the L-35 began with 1001. Series Zero Model numbers were 1001-1101. Later, The Finnish Defense Force upgraded this pistol to the stronger Vammasolski slide in the late 1950s. The grips for this pistol are original and have no cracks. This early example is missing the dust cover between the barrel and frame. We will include with this pistol a replacement dust cover, as seen in pictures. [SA] stamps located on frame, slide, and magazine. Import marks are readable but small under the right grip.
