U.S. MODEL 1840 NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER’S SWORD AND SCABBARD DATED 1863. 38” o/a with32” blade Ordnance inspected and dated on ricasso “U.S./D.F.M./1863” with reverse stamped “EMERSON & SILVER/TRENTON/N.J.”. Superior condition with near mint unpolished brass hilt and blade with much original polish mixed with patina. Nickel plated steel scabbard with Ordnance inspector’s stamp (D.P.H.) on drag with the reverse number stamped “59” a possible unit number. Superior condition and scarce original metal scabbard. $750.
