Description:
Someone made inquiry about this ring and as a result I did some rersearch as to exactly how it should be made as an original SS Honor ring. I thought I already knew the construction method but discovered enlightening information I did not know even more than I did.
For many years the general thought on these was they were cast as a bar, engraved, fomed into the round, skull added and then finially, hand tooling and finishing. Not so... Time, situations, and circumstance have revealed the three different component parts these rings are made from. This ring reflects those condition exactly.
If any interested person wants more and specific info, ask A I how these rings are made. There is a wealth of information available.. I did offer this previously but took it off the market and it has been sitting in a filing cabinet for the last 15 years
I have owned this ring for about 30 years, this ring has never been copied. I had 9 mint original rings at one time all together to ne an;e to compare, dating from 1934 to 1944 including the original Pfister ring I sell a copy of, and owned another 10 or so that had various conditions of wear.
There are several characteristics present that authenticate all original rings, one visible in these pictures is that a ball punch was used to articulate the eye sockets. Found generally on post 1936 rings that while not always present in originals, when found designates that ring as an original..
Additional pictures are available on request. There is nothing remotely similar to this particular ring available anywhere other than here. This is it, Folks, The real deal.
