Description:
This is a very good condition US M1873 Cadet Trapdoor Socket Bayonet with original scabbard and frog. The 16" blade retains almost all of the original finish with U.S on the ricasso, blade is nearly free of any imperfections, only light marks from age with no real oxidation. The 3" socket is in very good condition with light marks from use and a few small dents on the top. The very good metal scabbard body retains a good deal of the original finish with light signs of use. This comes with a leather belt loop, Hoffman device, leather and brass frog in very good condition with "US" on a stippled brass casting with some scattered verdigris, tight stitching and a fine patina. Back of the leather is marked "A.R.SMITH".;
