Description:
James Purdey & Sons Best Quality sidelock ejector SxS shotgun.

Made in 1967 this gun is considered to be a SxS shotgun specifically styled for the USA market.  Configured with many special order options that were very popular on shotguns in American during the 1960's/1970's:

Vent Rib with Mid Bead
Beavertail forearm
Single Trigger
Pistol Grip
Chokes of Cylinder/Improved Cylinder
Gold plate lockworks
Gold inlayed initials on the stock "AGM"
Non-automatic Safety

These guns were known as "Caliifornia" or "Texas" Purdeys!

Those above options are in addition to best quality Purdey features of Self-Opening and Checkered Butt

28" barrels, 2 3/4" chambers, .729" bores

The beautiful French Walnut stock has a 14 1/2" length of pull, 1 3/8" drop at comb and 2" drop at heel with 3/8" of cast favouring a right hand shooter.

Purdey factory motor case, ordered with the gun.  Weighs 7 lbs. 7 1/4 oz.

Condition is extraordinary especially in light of the fact that this gun is 59 years old!!  No apologies for any aspect of this magnificent Purdey, with all surfaces retaining 98%+ finishes.

From Purdey's factory letter:  rose and scroll engraved by G. Casbord. Finisher was Geekie. Actioner was Terry Barrow.  Stocker was H. Delay.  Barrels by George Wood.  Locks by Woolmar

From a internet search:  Anthony G Minoudis was a Los Angeles based Greek shipowner and diamond dealer who ordered and owned this gun while he had ordered another Purdey that was intended to "be the finest gun ever made sparing no expense"!  That gun was sold by Christies in 1960 for 120,000 GBP!!
