Description:
Lee Arms Red Jacket No. 4
.32 rimfire revolver built between 1877 and 1880 by Lee Arms Co. which was founded by James Paris Lee (1831-1904)
General Information:
  • Firearm Name: Red jacket No. 4
  • Caliber: .32 Rimfire
  • Trigger Type: Spur Trigger
  • Manufactured by: Lee Arms Company, Wilkes-Barres, PA
Top of the barrel marked :
“RED JACKET No 4”
Top of receiver marked:
LEE ARMS CO
WILKES-BARRE.PA.

Condition: 2 ¾”  octagon barrel has a nice bore with some minor pitting from black powder use and still showing strong rifling.
The metal finish retains about 95%  of the original nickel with some scratches  and handling marks. Beautiful original smooth walnut  grips are in very good condition with minor handling marks and wear. All matching numbers on frame , cylinder, trigger, and barrel.  All markings are very clear and legible.
The action needs attention. Needs a trigger return spring.    The cylinder turns but needs help. The cylinder stop stays in the up or closed position not allowing the cylinder to advance. I took a picture of that stop. If you press underneath on the cylinder stop pushing it down the cylinder works. That I believe has to do with the trigger not operating properly .
The current condition of the item listed has been described to the best of my ability . Please examine the photos , text thoroughly and make sure to ask any and all questions.
