33081-EARLY CASED ENGRAVED COLT 1873 SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45 CALIBER REVOLVER MFG. 1877. 7 ½” barrel with early Colt Hartford one line block address. Frame with three patent dates and all matching serial numbers (40638). Nickel plated overall with the original ivory grips. Very similar style engraving illustrated in Wilson’s COLT ENGRAVING BOOK VOL.1, page 410 and 411 on Single Actions serial numbers 53078 and 92504 by factory engraver Cuno Helfricht. All original and in fine condition with much original nickel finish (50-60%). Perfect working order and excellent bore. Beautiful original ivory grips in excellent condition. Colt Archives records state it was shipped to Simmons Hardware in St. Louis in 1877. Letter does not mention engraving. With circa early 1900’s velvet lined walnut case. Extra nice and completely original in every respect. $12,500.
