They really don't get much nicer than this. A rare model and even more rare transition iteraton. The much sought after by hunters SC (Sportiong Carbine 20" barrel with 1/2 mag) were made from 1949 to 1963 and by themselves are an exeptional little potent woods carbine especially sought after in 35 Rem) however a relatively small number were made in the deluxe factory hand checkered versions like this one. Per the Brophy book in 1957 the stock configurations were "modernized" my term. Designed and possibly supplied to Marlin by the the Bishop Stock Company ...the new version had a monte carlo comb and fancier wood and were checkered...This must have been an early 1957 model as it has the fancy wood and correct cherckering but the pre Bishop wood (we also have one with the Bishop wood)
At the same time the ADL Rifle was offered with fancy wood and identical checkering but the rifle had both the monte carlo comb and a riased cheek piece ....we have one of the rifles too which will be listed here shorlty.
Everything about this gun is exactly correct except: rear site removed for low scope clearance (easily replaced in the dovetail) and the Marlin Signature Bullsey as fallen out. A plug as been put in place however these are avail and can be replaced by anyone who is even a little handy
Also includes the base for what appears to be a Redfield peep (might be a Lyman). Scope shown is NOT included...it is a perfec low magnification post type ch...We have many excellent used sopes avail...The one shown on the rifle will be avail for $ 150.00
