Description:
Here is a very nice Husqvarna Model 33A sporting rifle, chambered in 9.3x72R. This model used a commercial rolling block action, and was built between 1893-1912.  This example has a 29.5" octagon barrel (75cm) with a very good bore.  It is possible that the rifle was originally chambered in 9.3x57R/.360, one of the listed calibers for the model, and was later lengthened to its current 9.3x72r.  However, according to "Husqvarna Jaktvapen 1870-1977" other calibers could be special ordered.so 9.3x72r could well be the original chambering.  There is a bladed front sight, while the rear sight consists of one standing and two folding leaves, marked out to 180 meters.  I have not fired the rifle, but the action functions crisply.  There is a steel cleaning rod.  The full-length semi-pistol-grip stock is European walnut.  The wood is solid with a variety of scratches.  The length of pull is 13 5/8" over a smooth steel butt-plate.  The weght is 6 lbs 13 oz.  As with many Scandanavian hunting weapons, the stock has a series of discreet kill marks (see photos), indicating that its owner killed 15 critters...mostly likely moose at very close range.  And though this is not a moose rifle by modern standards, it sure would be fun to carry in the whitetail woods.
