Description:
Very rare rifle, technically the first Kel-Tec. This is the Grendel SRT Rifle which was the first commercially produced firearm made by George Kellgren, founder of Kel-Tec who first founded the company Grendel in 1982. Initially intended to produce ballistic knives he quickly shifted focus to firearms and came up with the SRT Rifle designed to be marketed to both Police and Hunters. He used factory Sako AII (updated L579) actions and Douglas barrels, this one being chambered in 308 with a 20" fluted threaded barrel with self timing muzzle brake. The unique and unusual part is the folding stock he designed, using the glass reinforced polymer Zytel it features a flexible threaded rod to lock the stock open, protruding bipod mount and front sling stud and a blind 9 round internal magazine. Very unique design and very rare rifle as these were only produced for This rifle is in excellent condition with minimal wear, an excellent bore and comes with a Kahles Helia S 1.5-6x42 scope.
