Description:
This 1853 Sharps carbine is i'ded to C L Preston. His name is scratched on the patch box cover. There are two Preston's as the son was in the infantry and the father was in charge of wagons. This carbine has traces of the original brown barrel finish and traces of case color around the hammer. Bore is very fine as is the wood with the exception of a few scratches and dents. Mechanics are excellent and the caliber is military .52 caliber.
These early "John Brown" Sharps carbines are very tough to find in this condition. You will have to look real hard to find a better one. ON HOLD
