Description:
Synopsis:

Beautiful, high condition and all original / matching Colt Bisley Model Revolver, caliber .38 Colt, with adjustable sights, wide color case hardened hammer and target configured grip frame. An impressive variation of the Colt SAA, made for target shooting at the turn of the 19th century, this all-matching example made in 1907.

Description:

Standard configuration Colt Bisley single-action target revolver manufactured between 1894-1912 (44,350 total produced), cal. .38 Colt, SN: 295415, with 7.5" barrel, vertically adjustable bead profile brass front sight and drift adjustable "U" notch rear sight. Wide color case hardened checkered hammer. Left side of barrel marked "(BISLEY MODEL) .38 COLT", the top marked "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT U.S.A". Left side of frame marked "PAT SEPT 19 1871 / JULY 2 JAN 19 75" followed by circular rampant Colt logo. Matching SN "295415" on the butt, trigger guard, and frame, with last few digits scribed onto the inner surface of each grip. Unnumbered cylinder. Part number "1554" on the loading gate. Brown checkered hard rubber grips, each panel molded with an oval rampant Colt logo and secured with a single screw. This revolver is one of only 412 Bisley model revolvers chambered in the .38 Colt cartridge, making it a scarce variant. Named after the famous shooting range in England, the Colt Bisley revolver was developed as the company's entry into the late 19th century competitive shooting market but soon found favor among cowboys, lawmen, and gunslingers during the twilight of the Old West.

Condition:

VG-EXC original finish Colt Bisley revolver with sharp edge wear, a scattering of light handling marks, and thinning of the backstrap as one would expect from a carefully cared-for target firearm, now over one hundred years old. Comparable condition color case hardening of the hammer, and heat tempered fire blue of the screws and trigger. Hard rubber grips now with a brownish tone but no cracks or splits. Mirror bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics, each cylinder indexing correctly upon slow cocking.

Insured shipping fee of $120; package shipped FedEx 2nd Day.
