Deluxe Factory Engraved Large Frame Single Action Revolver With Its Original Rare "Merwin & Hulbert Co." Marked Cylinder Tin For Accessories All In Fine Untouched Condition. Made by Hopkins & Allen, Norwich Conn. From 1876-1880's. Serial # 3,495, all matching numbers on internal parts. It is in .44 Winchester caliber. The revolver has fine metal and markings throughout with very fine deluxe engraving covering most of the revolver. The entire barrel and bottom of frame retain nearly all of their original factory nickel finish. The barrel measures 5 5/8 inches in length. The barrel length were often not exact on these revolvers. The cylinder and rest of frame have a nice natural patina on them with some areas still showing their original nickel finish. The flutes in the cylinder still have some of their gold gild remaining inside them. The revolver still has its original lanyard ring on the bottom of the grip. The deluxe pearl grips are fine throughout. The Original & Very Rare "Merwin & Hulbert Co. N.Y." Marked Cylinder Tin For Accessories is excellent throughout with very clear "Merwin & Hulbert" markings and is dated June 20, 1882. These tins are nearly impossible to find. The revolver has a fine action throughout and works properly with a fine action. This is A Fine, Early & Desirable "Merwin & Hulbert Co."
