Fundamentally a deluxe version of the classic model 69 or 69A bolt action 22 this fine example looks almost as it did when it left New Haven Ct just 50 mins from our door 75 years ago. Model 75 target models are somewhat common; often used in summer camps and schools that had rifle teams but the Sporter or Sporting models are not often found. Producton of all variations began in 1938 and wound down by 1958.
One of these under a tree at Christmas would have any boy loosing sleep with visons of rabbits and squirrels instead of counting sheep.
Other than light loss of finish on the stock (very light) it appears pretty much as new. It has the excellent Lyman receiver site (option) and still has the front site hood!
Intentionally price hundreds under others like it.
We have 2 identical; the other has just come in on consigment ...its not been put out for sale yet but if you have couple of grand kids you buy for this would be a great pair .
