US Model 1861 Civil War Contract musket by Norwich. Approximately 25,000 rifles were made during the civil war for the US government. The functioning lock is marked US Norwich The full 3 band dark walnut stock is in good condition with normal scratches and dents and the initials WC on the right side. The metal has a dark brown patina. The full length barrel has both front and rear sights and is approximately 60 caliber Overall good condition complete with sling swivels and ramrod.
