This is a 1943-dated rifle with ROF Fazakerly marking on the left side of the receiver. The metal retains 65-70% of the wartime blued finish, with the balance faded to plum-brown patina with silvering and gray fading on the high edges. The mis-matched, but correct bolt has some further wear on the handle and bearing surfaces, and a post-’68 import mark is present on the right side of the barrel at the muzzle. The walnut stock has numerous handling marks and blemishes scattered throughout the reapplied oil finish. A large "FR" repair stamp is present on the right side of the buttstock, and two non-matching serial numbers are stamped on the underside of the forend just behind the nosecap. Additionally, a so-called "Ishapore screw" reinforcement has been added to the forend just ahead of the receiver, and a correct magazine is included. This is a nice WW2 No. 4, repaired after the war, and is in very good condition overall. FFL or C&R; Price: $750.00 Curio/Relic: Yes |
