We started out buying, selling, and trading at the large & frequent gun shows Colorado was known for back then. After relocating to New Hampshire in 1995, we established our online business, specializing in vintage gun parts, militaria, accoutrements, and related ephemera. Our goal is to provide you with quality items at reasonable prices, and moreover, to help you find that elusive part that restores your gun, or that scarce item to enhance your collection. In addition to selling, we are always open to buying & trading, and reasonable offers are always considered! Thanks for looking! Ken Gale River Traders Description: Offered for your consideration is a pair of Plains-Style Beaded Hide Children’s Moccasins. These are Native American made, from the late 19th / early 20th century. This is a nicely matched pair of Native American children’s moccasins, each measuring approximately 4-3/8" long and constructed of soft-tanned hide with one-piece soles and fully beaded vamps. The beadwork is executed in small glass seed beads in a restrained geometric palette of dark green ground with white, yellow, red, and blue accents, arranged in diamond and dotted motifs, characteristic of Plains-style lazy-stitch beadwork. Each moccasin retains original hide thong ties and exhibits honest wear to the soles and vamps, consistent with actual use by a child rather than later decorative production. The beadwork is hand-sewn and evenly executed, with no evidence of loom application. Materials, construction, and bead types are consistent with late 19th to early 20th century Native American work, following the widespread availability of glass seed beads. While no specific tribal attribution is certain, the geometric beadwork, stitch technique, and overall form align most closely with Plains traditions, rather than Woodland floral styles. Children’s moccasins of this quality and age are comparatively scarce, particularly in intact pairs with clear evidence of use. Condition: Good, original condition overall. Beadwork intact with minor bead loss consistent with age and wear. Soles show expected wear. No modern repairs observed. A fine addition to any collection! Please note that all of my items are subject to sale elsewhere, so if you are interested in these moccasins you should buy them sooner than later before they get sold and removed from Guns International. Thanks for looking! Shipping & Other Details: FREE domestic shipping via economy ground services. Expedited shipping and insurance available at cost.
