Special focus on custom contemporary muzzleloading rifles and black powder cartridge rifles. Description: Reduced. Pretty decent example of a Whitney Model 1812 .69 musket. These were manufactured under multiple contracts. Uncertain where this one fits. The 42" barrel is lightly pitted over its full length, which is typical, but no deep pitting. The .69 bore shows typical pitting, but remains very shootable. A bore soak with Evaporust would remove any snags. Barrel bands have light pitting. The lockplate is moderately pitted obscuring any markings. The lock is strong and sparks with undersized flint. Needs a musket flint. The stock is in overall very good antique condition. Appears to have been lightly refinished and oiled. Ramrod is a modern replacement. All in all a pretty good representative example of a 200 year old US martial musket. $1000 + Shipping.
