Description:
These original factory red-brown mottled Coltwood service grips are correct for the long round-butt grip frame Detective Special from c. 1947-1951, and the long round-butt Cobra from 1950-1951. They will also fit all Colt long round-butt D-frame revolvers up until the transition to the short square-butt grip frame in mid-1966: all long round-butt Detective Specials, Cobras, and Police Positive Specials. After c. 1951 Colt transitioned from the early red marbled Coltwood compound to a duller brown compound. While the early red swirled compound grips do not shrink, the later brown compound grips did. In excellent condition, this pair comes with their correct original grip screw and blind threaded, slotted escutcheon nut.
