Vintage Firearms is pleased to present this Mauser Modelo Argentino 1909, one of the highest regarded Mauser action rifles. The Argentine Mauser 1909 is essentially a streamlined version of the Gewehr 98, featuring a tangent leaf sight and compatibility with the earlier 1891 bayonet. Germany’s DWM supplied about 200 thousand rifles, while Argentine state factories in Rosario and Santa Fe produced another 85 thousand. Although later replaced by the FAL without seeing combat, although, some crest less 1909 rifles and carbines were sold to Paraguay for use during the Chaco War, and some were made used during the US occupation of the Dominican Republic. This example, serial number G0328, manufactured 1910 by DWM, and has been refinished. It has a mirror bore that rates 9.5/10, the barrel, receiver, and bolt retain 99% finish, with the receiver having been re-blued at some point. This Argentino has matching serial numbers on the bolt, receiver, stock, cleaning rod, and magazine floorplate. A great choice for any militaria collector and are a blast to shoot!
