Another great item from Gainesville Pawn! Up for sale is a Winchester prototype bolt action pistol.
This pistol is one of less than an estimated 100 prototype pistols based on the Model 1900/1902 rifle action and manufactured during the early 1900s as Winchester explored the idea of making a single shot pistol based on the actions of these popular rifles. No two have been found alike making this example the only one. The only the markings are a Winchester oval proof on the barrel and a number 2 on the right side of the receiver. Blade front and two-leaf rear sights. Walnut Checkered stock. Silver or nickel plated trigger guard. Milled contour barrel to match the stock. These are believed to be Winchester Prototypes. It is quite possible that some of these prototypes were retained by Winchester employees.
