For sale is a first-generation Browning T-Bolt chambered in .22 Long Rifle. This rifle was manufactured in 1966 by Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Belgium, as indicated by the serial number 18820X6 (the \"X6\" suffix specifically denotes 1966 production in the original T-Bolt dating system) and the \"Made in Belgium\" marking. It features the innovative straight-pull \"T-bolt\" action, introduced in 1965 as Browning‚s fast-cycling rimfire design.
The rifle is configured as a scope-ready sporter with a grooved receiver for direct scope ring mounting, a front sight only (no rear sight was ever installed), and period-correct markings including \"PATENT PENDING,\" Browning Arms Company addresses, and \".22 L.R. Good original condition with honest vintage wear. The metal retains strong original bluing with minor handling marks. The walnut stock shows attractive grain, normal scratches, small dings, and finish wear consistent with a 60-year-old rifle. No major cracks or damage visible. As with many 1966 Browning firearms, this example falls in the salt-wood production period; the rifle should be inspected by a licensed gunsmith prior to firing.
