Description:
NSN, .577/.450 Martini, 33 1/2" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has mild freckling within the grooves. This is an 1887-dated, "(Crown) / VR" cyphered, "ENFIELD" marked rifle that has traces of blue remaining along the barrel. The majority of the exposed metal has a smooth blue-gray patina, with mottled areas of plum-brown in spots, some thin freckling throughout, as well as thin pinprick pitting present along some of the high points and edges. The barrel proofs and receiver markings are still clear and legible. The walnut forend and buttstock are in good-very good shape with numerous small handling marks and blemishes scattered about the thick, added military oil finish. Some small slivers are missing from the wood just ahead of the rear band, and visible British and Nepalese markings are present on the right side of the buttstock. A locally-made cleaning rod is included, and a new unit marked white leather sling is fitted. This is a splendid looking Nepalese marked "Long Tang" Martini-Henry, and is in very good condition overall. Antique;
