SOLD - #70395, Merkel 470 Nitro Express Model 140-2 Safari, Boxlock with Game Scene Engraving, Made in 2002, Like buying it new, Their Anson Type Action with a Rib Extension and Greener crossbolt, 23 1/2" Extractor Shoe Lump Krupp Steel barrels with a rib extension for the crossbolt, Demibloc barrels as the later Merkel's were Monobloc, Extended 1/4 rib with 1 standing and 1 folding sights, Side clip action body and the later ones without side clips, Bushed strikers, Double triggers, Bolstered frame, Cocking indicators, Scalloped action back, A factory crossbolt at the head of the stock, A splinter forend with a pull-down Deeley & Edge release, Cheekpiece, Sling eyes, Steel trigger guard tang, 14 1/16" LOP over a 1" Decelerator pad, 10 lbs. 3 oz., Quite nice wood with nice contrast, 85% coverage of very well done hand-cut scroll engraving with a Rhino on the left side and a Cape Buffalo on the right side, Engraved by MK and initialed, This is almost like buying it new but at a much more attractive price as a new order would be more costly. The original barrel blue is at 99%, The frame finish at 100%, The original stock finish at 97% with very slight handling marks, The checkering remains at 100%, The bores remain as new. - SOLD
