Description:
Handsome and great handling 12 gauge premium grade sidelock Beretta SO4 TRAP with fabulous highly figured European walnut Monte Carlo stock and beavertail trap forearm with hand rubbed oil finish. Has original Beretta factory trap recoil pad and the trigger guard has the word “TRAP” inlaid in silver. It also has a gold medallion inlaid in the pistol grip commemorating Beretta’s gold medal wins in Montreal, Monaco, and Moscow. The single non-selective trigger is crosshatched for precise control. Manual safety. Made in 1985 this SO4 weighs 7lb 14oz and has a broad comb for comfortable shooting and a right hand palm swell for secure grip. Good mechanical and cosmetic condition. These sidelock Berettas with their leaf springs have excellent trigger pulls and just flow to the target. Great gun for trap, helice, box birds and Columbaire where the target quickly changes directions.
The quick-to-the-target 28” barrels are made of Boehler Antinit Steel and chambered for 2-3/4” shotshells. They are topped by an approximate 8mm raised ventilated hand crosshatched rib. Has silver mid-bead and orange front sight. Bluing is in good condition but shows some wear under the forearm. Bores are shiny and bright. The barrels are marked as weighing 1.400kg. The chokes are marked as Improved Modified and Full. The lower barrel is bored 0.731” with a constriction of 0.034”. The upper barrel is bored 0.728” and has a constriction of 0.039”.
The Monte Carlo stock and trap beavertail forearm are made of very highly figured European walnut that has a beautiful hand rubbed satin oil finish. Also has its original factory Beretta logo trap recoil pad, right hand palm swell, a generous comb for comfortable shooting over a long day of competition. Stock dimensions are 14-1/2” including the 5/8” recoil pad by 1-1/4” Drop at Comb, 1-1/8” Drop at Monte Carlo, and 2” Drop at Heel. Pretty close to being a parallel comb to help the shooter acheive a consistent mount for each shot. Cast off for the righthanded shooter.
Comes with its factory canvas & leather Beretta logo case but the case, while intact, shows some wear as does the recoil pad. The stock has a few minor handling marks from normal usage. The left lock plate has a few minor blemishes.
