This is a classic N-frame Smith & Wesson built as the durable, working-man’s version of the famed Registered Magnum / Model 27, and these Highway Patrolman revolvers have become increasingly popular with collectors and shooters alike. This example appears to be an early pinned-and-recessed revolver and comes with its original blue Smith & Wesson box. The end label shows Model 28-2, blue finish, 4" barrel, and serial number N931562, matching the revolver markings shown in the photos. The revolver retains a very strong original blue finish with handling wear visible in the photos. There are light edge marks and normal signs of use, but overall it presents very well. The barrel is marked “.357 MAGNUM CTG.” and “HIGHWAY PATROLMAN.” It wears factory-style wood magna grips with S&W medallions. A very honest and attractive classic Smith revolver that would fit well in a collection or still make a great shooter.
