Description:
 An Early Pre Mexican War & U.S. Civil War Military Issued Springfield Model 1816 Flintlock Musket Dated 1828 In Fine Untouched Condition. All original and complete. The musket has fine plus metal and markings throughout. Marked on the lock "HARPERS FERRY" & Dated "1828". There is a very crisp "EAGLE" in the center of the lock. The barrel is marked with a very clear "V.P. & "EAGLE". The barrel, lock, and hammer, trigger guard, barrel bands, and butt plate all have good edges & have fine original brown mixing with an even chocolate patina on them. The musket has fine wood with very good plus edges. There is a clear large & a small original "Inspectors Cartouche" on the backside opposite the lock. There are also 3 initials "F.L.K." carved on the underside of the wood in front of the trigger guard. It has a very good bore and fine action. This Is A Very Fine Looking Example Of An Early Model 1816 Harpers Ferry Flintlock Musket Dated 1828 That Belongs In A Fine Collection!
