Description:
An Early Proofed & Inspected New England Militia Flintlock Musket Dated 1832 In Fine Untouched Condition. All original & complete. Although many muskets were made in America, or assembled here using imported parts, the musket appears to have been purchased directly from England and then inspected here according to the the massachusetts proof law of 1808. On the left side of the barrel breech are the stamps, "P" (in a round sunken cartouche) over "L.M." (Luke Harrington, Inspector) & "M" (For Massachusetts) over date "1832". The lock is marked "London/Warrented". The gun has fine untouched metal & markings. It is in 69 caliber. All of the brass on the rifle is fine & untouched throughout. The wood is also fine with no cracks in it and has a wonderful color to it. The musket measures 57 1/2 inchs long and has a very good bore in it. It also has a nice action in it. This Is A Fine Looking Example Of An Early Proofed & Inspected New England Militia Flintlock Musket Dated1832!
