I have a Griswold & Gunnison IRON FRAME Confederate Revolver for sell or trade . In William Albaugh's book on Confederate Revolvers he said that he had never seen one but he knows that they were trying to make one . In 1070s a man searching the remains where the Griswold and Gunnison Factory , found some Iron frames and other Iron gun p1arts .We took this revolver to a metallurgy laboratory and had the Iron parts tested with the Rockwell Hardness test .The test proved the guns Iron was twisted to make it stronger , the South did not have steel or the equipment to process the steel parts , the Iron was softer and easier to work , as the Griswold was made by hand .This is an original Revolver that my Daddy picked up at Alanta Civil War show several years ago .The condition is rough compared to a Colt . The barrel bore is badly rusted . The Revolver rocks and would shoot . This Revolver is # 163 and is complete , no missing parts .We will trade for silver or other guns .You are welcome to come to Johnson City , TN to check the gun out , if you would like . They must have used the same mold that they molded the brass frames with because there is brass molded into the frame where the cylinder fits , please see photos
