Description:
Museum Quality UNFIRED Winchester 1895 .30 Carbine C. 1921

Offered here for sale and just acquired is this Superb UNFIRED vintage 1921 Winchester Model 1895 carbine in .30 Army caliber. All original with 22" barrel. Saddle ring. Serial number 401361. It retains 100% blued finish with wood nearly unissued save for a couple of storage marks. MINT BORE.
The Winchester Model 1895 is one of the most historically important lever-actions ever made.
Designed by John Moses Browning it was the first Winchester lever gun with a box magazine instead of a tubular one.  It has a 22” barrel, chambered for .30 Army (.30–40 Krag) , with saddle ring and in all original, superb condition . Intended for mounted use (cavalry, Rangers, or field carry) it was shorter and handier than standard rifles (which were usually 24–28") .
It was one of the earliest smokeless military cartridges used in the U.S.  Marked  “.30 Army” by Winchester , late production (1921).
The Model 1895 saw serious service use by U.S. forces in the Spanish–American War , widely used by Texas Rangers and a large contracts to Russia in WWI . Favored by Theodore Roosevelt, who called his .405 version his “medicine gun” for lions.  It’s essentially the last and strongest of the classic Winchester lever-actions. Most of these  Model 1895 carbines saw hard field use , have finish wear, bore erosion, or replaced parts . This specimen, an UNFIRED carbine is much rarer than rifles. A top-tier investment grade Winchester with absolutely zero mechanical wear .
