"Serial no. 7983f. Manufactured in 1917 by Erfurt Arsenal, chambered in 8mm,24"" round barrel. The bore is dark with oxidation noted while the rifling remains visible. Serial numbers are matching throughout. The metal surfaces have aged to a mottled brown/grey patina consistent with service use and age. The Kar 98 was the standard German carbine during WWI, issued to cavalry, artillery, and specialized troops, and examples produced at Erfurt represent wartime Imperial arsenal production. The stock has been lightly refurbished at some point while factory markings remain sharp and clearly legible. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
