Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle Antique 40-82WCF
This is an antique Winchester 1886 rifle in 40-82WCf. It has a 26” full octagon barrel and magazine, standard walnut stocks, and is sighted with sporting-style semi-buckhorn sight and German silver blade front sight.
Condition:
The condition of this Winchester 1886 rifle is very good to fine overall. The metal surfaces have toned to gray-brown, with light handling marks and high edge silvering along the barrel flats. The receiver is a lighter gray, the bolt retains a generous amount of muted blue toning to gray. The crescent butt plate has turned to a gunmetal gray with a few dark spots. The bore is very good, partly bright with spots of subtle oxidation and very strong rifling. The plain walnut stock and fore end remain in very good condition and has been lightly cleaned in the distant past. The fit of stocks to metal is shy to the metal, there are chips in the wrist along the upper tang, with light handling marks from use overall. The legends remain strong.
This is a solid and rugged 1886 that displays over 100 years of honest use. This rifle is an antique and can be shipped directly to the buyer.
