Description:
This listing is for my Winchester M1 Carbine. It is serial number 65678xx, which was manufactured in the November 1944 - January 1945 time period. I purchased this carbine from a Georgia collector 15 years ago. According to the reference book I used at that time, this carbine was period correct. I do not know anything about the origin of this carbine before I purchased it.
I had a collection of M1 Carbines around that time and have sold all but this one, because it is a Winchester and is so accurate. I am approaching the end of my string and don’t get to do much shooting anymore, so I am letting this one go along with all the extra parts and accessories I kept with it.
The first photo is of my spec. sheet that I prepared for all the carbines in my collection. There are no import marks and all parts appear to be correct for a carbine manufactured in that time period. The only things out of the ordinary that I observed is the fact that the right side of the buttstock has had something painted on it. The previous owner had scraped the paint off, but there is still enough residue present to show that something had been painted there. There are two dark spots on the handguard like they had been close to something hot. There is a spare handguard that could be installed if desired. The parkerizing on the bolt is darker than the olive greenish finish on the receiver and operating handle. I do not recollect what the finish was on other carbine bolts and do not have anything else to compare it to.
The carbine functions perfectly and the bore is excellent.
I have photographed most of the parts and have 30+ photos, but GI does not allow me to show all the photos. I can forward them all to someone who is seriously interested.
In addition to the carbine, the following parts and accessories are included in this package: a) Ten 15-rd. magazines: BW, IW, SW, UW, U, I.I., IA, UU, K.I., K.I.  A few of the magazines have a little rust but all are functional; b) Two 5-rd. magazines: one plastic and one steel; c) One flash hider: HIDER, FLASH- M3; d) Four buttstock magazine pouches: Havsech Co.  1943, G&H 1943, Boyt 44, S F Co 1945; e) 1944 Shane Mfg. Co. canvas jump case , excellent condition; f) One Spare W barrel; g) One Spare W stock w/ W handguard; h) One bolt takedown tool; i) One USGI pin punch; j) Two rubber magazine caps; k) Two spare W firing pins; l) One stripper clip; m) One magazine loading stripper clip; n) One WWII 30 cal. Steel ammo can marked “CROWN”; o) One set RCBS reloading dies; p) One small field grease pot; q) Two USGI cleaning brushes- one stiff and one soft; r) One Field Manual TB-13-7-1; s) Two extra buttplates; t) Three 1943 plastic USGI rifle storage bags marked “COVER, WATERPROOF, RIFLE”; u) 700+ fired cases for reloading; v) 100 Hornady reloading bullets; w) 650 USGI pulled bullets for reloading (Must be resized to .308 before using); x) 160 new reloading bullets from Graf & Son; y) 400+ cast bullets for reloading; z) One Lee .308 resizing die; aa) One plastic hard side padded case for shipping the carbine; bb) Sack-Up soft case.
