Description:
A good honest, lightly used example of the most complicated Bayonet design that the British Ministry of Defence ever put into production!  Lower production numbers (for a bayonet) make this type and and example an ideal collection filler.  Designed to fit a No4 Lee Enfield when "closed" and a STEN mk5 when "opened" this design allowed one pattern of bayonet to (conceptually) be issued to all Army ranks and arms load outs.  Especially appealing to the immediate Cold War years of the Parachute Regiment.
All known marks are shown - typically dificult to read.  I sustect this is a Poole 1946 example - the only approved production contract.  Featuring early composite thermoplastic grips and intended for the increasingly harder to find "Bowie" format scabbard.
