Very RARE specimen to behold..!-Read-ON...! You'll NEVER find another -pre-production prototype such as THIS little Gem..! Be advised "Fordyce BEALS" designed-produced his own revolvers HE Patened & SOLD..! He also was an employee-an 'advisor-inventor-inspector at REMINGTON ARMS..! getting back to this specimen,...study the photos & comparisons to later produced REMINGTON 1858 Army-Navy Revolvers..as there ARE "tiny" variations in "Tool Room" copy...! This 'specimen bears NO SERIAL #....IT ONLY displays "XX" and..NO Barrel stamping-address..! Indeed these pre-final 'tool copies were loaded & tested..BEFORE Final approval...! hence the lac of any NUMBER.! This does display NO Final finish-as in BLUING/polishing etc. Take note ..Notice how "tight the Frt. of Cylinder 'meets the barrel-compare that to a production 1858 REMINGTON(see Photo 11)...then the Hammer is a tad less taller than the Numbered Revolvers..YET IT along w/ OTHER 'parts have the "XX" stampings(see Photo 5 at top for the "XX")....the Grips were done in PENCIL near the top Crown of the grips. This GEM functions smoothe as designed & the BORE is as New..! Being such, there's NOTHING to compare it to unless compared to a Factory Serial numbered Revolover...so, email me your 'offer(s)...Highest Offer will be the next owner.
