The Kimber LW (Lightweight) series consists of full-size 1911 pistols designed with weight-reducing aluminum frames instead of traditional steel. These pistols generally weigh around 31.2 ounces unloaded, making them roughly 7–10 ounces lighter than a standard all-steel 1911, which aids in more comfortable carry.
