The 14-inch double-edged blade is of traditional triple-fullered construction, the central panels intricately decorated with niello-inlaid scrolling ornament of exceptional quality. The presence of niello decoration within the blade fullers is a scarce and highly desirable feature, typically reserved for higher-grade examples. A stylized workshop mark appears within the central fuller, framed by decorative cartouches. The hilt is of characteristic Caucasian type with two-rivet slab construction, mounted in silver or white metal and embellished throughout with finely executed niello work in harmonious patterns consistent with the blade decoration. The proportions are elegant and well balanced, exhibiting the refined aesthetic associated with Kubachi craftsmanship. The original scabbard is leather-covered over a wood core and retains its matching niello-mounted fittings, including throat and chape, all decorated in coordinated floral and geometric motifs. The survival of a complete and matching set of this quality significantly enhances the desirability of the piece. Condition is very good, the blade having been lightly cleaned with minor areas of age oxidation at the ricasso. The niello work on both blade and mounts remains crisp and well defined, retaining strong visual contrast. An elegant and authentic example of a high-quality Caucasian kindjal, combining desirable blade decoration with finely matched mounts—an increasingly sought-after form among advanced collectors of ethnographic arms.
