The musket has aged to an even brown patina throughout, with the barrel marked “b-N-Y." The barrel was originally pinned and later upgraded with four brass barrel bands, reflecting period modifications for extended service use. The stock is very good, showing light handling impression marks while remaining solid and well-preserved. Dutch muskets of this type were widely imported and utilized during the American Revolutionary War due to shortages of domestically produced arms, making them an important component of early American military supply. An example of this pattern is illustrated in Battle Weapons of the American Revolution (page 111). The action holds at both half and full cock, remaining mechanically functional. Price: $9,500.00 Antique: Yes |
