The Colt New Agent is a compact, lightweight 1911-style semi-automatic pistol designed specifically for discreet concealed carry. Introduced in 2007 and produced until approximately 2015, it was marketed as a modern \"belly gun\"—a powerful, large-caliber firearm intended for fast, close-range defensive use.

The New Agent‚s most distinguishing characteristic is its snag-free design, intended to facilitate a smooth draw from concealment.
Trench Style Sight: Instead of traditional front and rear posts, the slide features a narrow \"tunnel\" or groove milled down its entire length. This provides a low-profile indexing reference for point shooting while eliminating potential snag points.
Compact Frame: Based on the Colt Officer’s model, it utilizes an aluminum alloy frame and a shortened grip to reduce weight and overall footprint.
Bushingless Barrel: It features a 3-inch stainless steel bull barrel that locks directly into the slide, as the short slide cannot accommodate a standard 1911 barrel bushing.
Safety & Trigger: Most models use the Series 80 firing system with standard thumb and grip safeties and a 3-hole aluminum single-action trigger. A rare Double Action Only (DAO) variant was also produced, which lacked external safeties and used a spurless hammer.
