We wish to help you improve your collection and make both parties happy. Description: This M28/76 was manufactured in 1973 using a 1900 Izhvesk recever. It has a 2 stage M27 target type trigger. Its tunnel front sight is set back 5/8", and its original 28/76 rear sight is #130. The right side of the rear sight shows a SAKO gear wheel. Original aperature is present. The bolt numbers match the receiver. Import marks are found on bottom of barrel in front of forearms of stock. A maker's mark is located on the right side of the chamber. The bedded stock's number is 35688. This birch stock appears to be dry and desiring oil. We have chosen to give the buyer the opportunity to choose which method they would like to use. The T sling rail on the left side and the T rail on the bottom are present. A typical dime-sized Finn knot plug is found on left side of wrist. There is a small wood separation seen from this area that we believe is due to wood shrinkage. Another small separation seen back by the right side sling relief about 1.25" long. Checkered hard rubber butt plate is in surprising good shape; often we see these worn smooth instead of nice condition like this. The rifle's bluing is considerably nice, and certainly very nice given the condition of many of these as we have seen. There is a very small (quarter size) area of light bluing 6" in front of the rear sight in the 12 o'clock position, obviously from leaning in a rack. This rifle's bore is in excellent condition. The CMP throat muzzle wear gauge (.308) measures -1, which is below zero. The CMP muzzle gauge is designed for a .308 muzzle diameter (typically used on Garands and 1903s). We have chosen to use this tool to give a reference as to muzzle wear and noted that many 28/76s have been found to have .308 bore diameters. A definite advantage for reloader and bullet selection. *We are not making the claim that this rifle is chambered in .308, we're specifically talking about bore diameter. *We recommend using our additional $30 for hard case shipping feature for 28/76s. We also highly recommend being allowed to separate the barreled action from the stock for shipping. It is our practice to attach a .25" piece of plywood to the stock, giving it protective structure. This will help prevent any damage during shipping. Please see picture for this shipping practice. According to Matt DiRisio, in Finnish Mosin-Nagant, M28/76 production commenced in the mid 1970s to function as sniper trainers, sniper rifles, or marksmanship training for the Finnish Defense Forces and Finnish Border Guard until the late 1990s. Only about 1000 M28/76 rifles were imported into the USA. Please see pictures for details. All used firearms should be inspected by a qualified gunsmith prior to firing. All items are sold as photographed unless other arrangements are made. We accept USPS Money Order, cashier’s check, or credit card for immediate shipping. Please note credit card sales are subject to an additional 3% fee. Shipping & Handling ($50):
